The Program for Evaluating Payment Patterns Electronic Report (PEPPER) is now sent to your facility by CMS, as a tool to detect improper Medicare payments. It provides information about your facility compared to jurisdiction, state and national norms. This webinar will cover how to use PEPPER to your organization’s optimal advantage. Learn where PEPPER data comes from, how to make accurate comparisons between your facility and others, and how to leverage the information that may make your facility at risk for either over or under payment in the Medicare system. Identify where outliers exist for these risk areas – target both potential overpayments and potential underpayments. It is vital that you understand how to leverage this new data resource to optimize payment and mitigate risk.

Learning Objectives
  1. 1. Define the PEPPER program content
  2. 2. Identify specific focus areas of data in reports
  3. 3. Describe the three domains of data comparison in the reports
  4. 4. Review techniques to evaluate facility report risks and liabilities
